The 12-th ITC Specialist Seminar on teletraffic issues related to
mobile systems and mobility will be held on
March 22 - 24, 2000 at Lillehammer, Norw
ay
About ITC
The International Teletraffic Congress will be the catalyst, focal
point and primary source for teletraffic research and
applications in the International community. Specifically, the ITC
will provide a forum for teletraffic experts to meet,
interact and benefit from discussions and exchanges of ideas, resu
lts and best practices. The ITC Specialists
Seminars attract and stimulate technical interchange between telet
raffic scientists, engineers and related
researchers on specific technical topics related to current or eme
rging telecommunications services and
technologies. The topic or theme selected would be one which would
attract attendees and foster significant
technical interchange. The work is typically in-progress status, r
ecent findings or current technical challenges.
There are invited participants/speakers known to be at leading edg
e in the field.
Seminar objectives
Wireless communication and mobility are having a profound impact o
n society. A development towards a global
multimedia network with full personal mobility (including terminal
s and services) where the users are offered access
at any time and any place is expected. A rapid change in technolog
y and an increasing demand for capacity and
services make a challenge for teletraffic engineering. The seminar
will address the core problems.
Topics
Topics addressed include but are not limited to: Modelling, perfor
mance evaluation, dimensioning, planning,
forecasting, optimization, dependability and survivability related
to
Wireless ATM, wireless LANs, indoor wireless systems
Wireless Internet and Intranet
Mobile IP and Nomadic communications
Next generation mobile systems, UMTS and IMT-2000
Mobile multimedia and mobile personal communication
High, medium and low orbit satellite communication systems
