In its 8th year, MASCOTS has come of age. MASCOTS is a well established
symposium in the area of computer architecture, networks, and tele-
communications. In the year 2000, MASCOTS looks at Advances in Network
and Communication Structures. For the third time, MASCOTS returns to
California, with Silicon Valley, world class universities, and many
more opportunities nearby.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Papers are solicited which contain significant novel ideas and research
results relevant to the modeling, simulation, measurement, benchmarking,
and capacity planning of computer and communication systems.

The scope of Mascots 2000 includes the following areas:

  - Computer Architecture Modeling and Simulation
  - Parallel and Distributed Systems
  - Real-Time Systems
  - Reconfigurable Computing
  - Multimedia Systems and Applications
  - Information Technology Innovations
  - Benchmarking and Measurement Tools
  - World Wide Web Infrastructure and Applications
  - Network Architecture, Traffic and Security
  - Wireless and Broadband Communication Networks
  - Formal Methods and Petri Nets
  - Diffusion Modeling and Simulation
  - Distributed Simulation
  - Capacity Planning
  - Performance Modeling, Analysis and Validation
  - Performance Studies of Web-Servers
  - Workload Characterisation and Generation

TOOLS TRACK

Authors are encouraged to submit papers describing tools suitable for
on-line demonstration. Tool papers will undergo a regular review
process and will be published in the conference proceedings. Tool
papers will be presented as live demonstrations, and tool presenters
will bring their own equipment (e.g. laptops) for their presentation.
A VGA compatible projection system capable of 640x400 and 800x600
resolution, and a PAL/NTSC video system for VHS tapes will be available.
Only 110 volt power will be available.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Papers must not exceed 8 pages (10 point text), and have to include
abstract, keywords, and author contact information, including postal
and email address. Papers must be unpublished and must not be submitted
for publication elsewhere.

Authors of both regular and Tool papers are strongly encouraged to
submit their papers in electronic form (PDF or PostScript) over the web:
  http://www.ee.uwa.edu.au/~mascots
As an exception, papers may be submitted as hardcopies to one of the
Program Chairs (regular papers) or the Tool Chair (Tool papers).
