The first SIGCOMM Latin American Workshop on Data Communications seeks
to provide a forum for data communications research with an emphasis
on problems of particular interest in Latin America and the Caribbean.
SIGCOMM is planning to make this workshop a regular event. Authors are
encouraged to submit papers on any research topic in data
communications. Submissions on topics that have relevance the Latin
American community are particularly valued. Such topics include:
* Wireless subscriber access to the Internet
* Cost effective local loop technologies
* Improving TCP/IP performance over low bandwidth links
* Satellite communication
* Electronic Commerce
* IP Telephony
* Quality of Service (such as diff serv)
The conference will be bilingual in Spanish and English. Papers may be
submitted in either language. Accepted papers will be translated so
that
the proceedings contains a Spanish and English version of each paper.
Paper presentations can be made in either Spanish or English.
Translation will be provided for the question and answer sessions.
Tutorials will be offered in Spanish.
Instructions for Authors
Papers of up to 20 double-spaced pages are solicited. Each paper
should
include a title, brief abstract, list of keywords, authors full name,
affiliation and complete postal and email addresses. Submissions via
the Internet are encouraged. Papers should be sent to:

Student Travel Grants
SIGCOMM will provide funding for up to 20 students to travel to the
workshop.
