Scope
The growing popularity of the Internet along with the availability of
powerful computers and high-speed networks as low-cost commodity
components is changing the way we do computing and communication. The
new global (grid) computing applications are one of the driving forces
for the evolution from the single best-effort service towards new
network services such as QoS (Quality of Service). The QoS services
will significantly improve the performance of global computing
applications.
The IQ2001, a millennium workshop organised at the CCGrid'2001
symposium, will serve as a major forum to present and share the latest
research results from academia, industry, and users. The focus of this
workshop will be on architectures, protocols and software aspects of
QoS for the Internet-wide computing. Topics of interest include, but
are not limited to:
* Network Performance and Multipath Communication
* Internet QoS Services for the Grid
* Grid Performance over DiffServ Networks
* Grid Performance over IntServ Networks
* Resource Trading and QoS Issues
* Dynamic Internet Resource Reservation
* Charging Issues for Gloabl Computing and Communication
* Traffic Models & Statistics
* Analysis of Traffic Dynamics for Grid Computing Applications
* Remote Visualisation over QoS Internet
* Grid-enabled Applications over QoS Networks
* Adaptive Grid Applications (e.g., Multimedia Apps.) over the QoS
Internet
Paper Submission
Submission should include authors names, affiliations, addresses and
email addresses on the cover page. Submission implies the willingness
of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper.
Please submit original, full paper not exceeding 10 pages of two
column text using single spaced 10 point size type on 8.5 x 11 inch
pages, as per IEEE 8.5 x 11 manuscript guidelines, see:
http://www.computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm. Authors should submit
a PostScript (level 2) or PDF file that will print on a PostScript
printer to the Workshop Chairs Mahbub Hassan and Sanjay Jha by
email. Hard copies should be sent only if electronic submission is not
possible.
Proceedings
All papers selected for this workshop by peer-review process will be
published in the the CCGrid'2001 symposium proceedings through the
IEEE Computer Society Press, USA and they will also be made available
online through the IEEE digital library. If enough good quality papers
are received, the revised and extended versions may be published in a
special issue of a suitable journal.
