CALL FOR PAPER
The 3G Wireless Technical Forum, Wireless Mobile ATM Task Force, IEEE
Communications Society and Its local chapters in Silicon Valley
announce a forthcoming IEEE International Conference on Third
Generation Wireless and Beyond to be held on June 6 through 8, 2001
in San Francisco (Silicon Valley), United States, with numerous
workshops, tutorials as well as panel sessions on this next wireless
storm.
There has been tremenduous interest recently in third generation (3G)
wireless mobile systems and beyond (4G). 3Gwireless, scheduled to
start services around the year 2001, has been the very hot subject of
much research and many standardization activities throughout the
world. Many 3G/4G related study committees are taking the initiative
to produce own proposals of radio transmission technologies, wireless
applications protocols, All-IP wireless network architectures and
advanced system prototypes for 3Gwireless and 4Gmobile. The objective
of this conference is to gather the research and development papers
in this field and present an overview of the-state-of-the-art of this
3Gwireless storm - globally or locally, as well as perspectives on
future development in order to promote future research activities.
Original contributions are invited on recent research and development
of 3Gwireless (and 4Gmobile) systems and networks such as UMTS, wmATM
(wireless mobile ATM), Software Definable Radio, Wireless Mobile
Internet, Wireless Application Protocols, Wireless Access, All-IP
Wireless Architecture, etc. The topics of interest within the scope
of this conference include (but are not limited to) the following:
4Gmobile initiatives, e.g. higher datarate, best QoS, efficient utilization
Convergence of 3Gwireless and Internet, e.g. Wireless Mobile Internet
Radio Transmission Technology for 3G and 4G
Software Definable Base Station system for 3G and 4G
Smart Mobile Terminal system for 3G and 4G
Advanced Digital RF system concepts
Network solutions for 3G and 4G, e.g. All-IP wireless
Enhanced services for 3G and 4G
Re-configurability issues for flexible 3G/4G system platforms
2G - 3G - 4G migration issues
Wireless Mobile ATM (wmATM) technologies
Harmonization issues for 3G/4G Radio Interface
3g/4gWireless Applications Protocol, e.g. WAP
3G/4G Satellite Technology
Co-existence with broadband wireless access
Broadband Mobile Wireless (BMW), including 3G and 4G
4G Bandwidth on Demand issues
Other 3G/4G Issues, e.g. access control, channel allocation, wireless packet
The submitted papers will be reviewed by referees according to the
ordinary rules of the IEEE Conference. Each paper is, in principle,
limited to eight printed pages. Original, unpublished contribution
will be considered for this conference presentation as well as
proceedings. Prospective authors are requested to send extended
summary (3~5 Pages) of their manuscripts to the following address
(Electronic Submission is highly encouraged, please refer to
instructions on the web site) in electronic mean or hardcopy
according to the following timetable (refer to HERE for details).
Result will be announced after full technical reviewing process. The
deadline for the initial paper submission is November 30, 2000.
In addition to regular technical papers, proposals of tutorials,
workshops and panel sessions are also welcome.
All Submissions to send:
