THEME
Multimedia network is one of key technology to support cyber society in
the twenty-one century. Many advanced multimedia applications over
high-speed networks as well as mobile environment are realized in
various fields. Especially, the Internet has given drastic influence
and impact to not only the information technologies but also social
environments. The main objective of this workshop is to bring together
researchers from multimedia application areas and network system ones
with the aim of encouraging the exchange of ideas and experience
between these communities. The first MMNS was held at the University of
Aizu, Japan in conjunction with ICPP'99 in September 1999 with about 30
excellent presentations. With extreme expectation toward to the new
millennium, the 2nd MMNS was held at Iwate Prefectural University,
Japan in conjunction with ICPADS'2000. About 35 papers were accepted
and presented. This time, the 3rd MMNS will be held in Arizona, USA. We
expect a great success of this continuous series of outstanding
presentation and high quality publication.

them: smith1.ps, smith2.ps, etc.
Transferring to FTP Site
When transferring files to our FTP site, if you have a choice between
ASCII and binary modes, use binary. Although ASCII mode works well most
of the time, binary mode incurs fewer problems.
