PURPOSE
The International Conference on Advances in Communications is a major
forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners throughout the
world to present their latest research, results, ideas, developments,
and applications in all areas of communication systems. It aims to
strengthen relations between industry, research laboratories, and
universities. AIC 2001 will be held at the Rodos Palace in Rhodes,
Greece, and will include keynote addresses, contributed papers,
tutorials, and workshops. The full papers will be published in the
conference proceedings. Acceptance will be based on quality,
relevance, and originality.
LOCATION
Rhodes (Rodos in Greek), the beautiful island of the rose, is famous
for its sun, sea, and sand. An ideal vacation spot, Rhodes is
officially the sunniest place in Europe. The island of Rhodes is
fascinating not only for its natural beauty, but also for its
archeological treasures. The city of Rhodes dates back to 408 BC. It
made strong advances during this time and managed to extend its area
of rule, mint its own coin, and introduce the first maritime laws, all
before the second century BC. This historical aspect pleasantly merges
with the cosmopolitan ambience of a modern resort city, with its
luxurious hotels, fine dining, and decorative shops.
