Technical Symposium 2001
The Path to
4G Mobile
The Only International Forum Focused on Addressing the
State-of-the-Art Proposals and Research Activities on Enhanced 3G,
Migration Paths and Technical Routes to 4th Generation Wireless
Networks
Thursday 13th - Friday 14th September Strand Intercontinental, Helsinki
4G is currently being considered by the wireless/cellular industry.
This active technical symposium has been created to have open and
frank discussions on the future of 4G Mobile. It will address the
challenges to realise 4G Mobile - what it is and how to get there?
The meeting will provide answers and bring enlightenment to the world
of 4G.
IIR have convened a scientific committee made up of eminent
specialists and prominent personalities in the 4G World. The
committee will be responsible for the intellectual content of the
programme by examining and choosing the speakers from submitted
abstracts in accordance with their technological relevance.

PROGRAMME FOCUS
The most pressing question facing everyone working in the cellular
industry is: What will 4G be? IP based, Wireless LAN, OFDM,
Bluetooth, or a combination of heterogeneous wireless and wired
networks? The industry is using 4G as an undefined term lacking any
real technical description, but this Technical Symposium brings
together the leading minds working in the area of 4G to discuss
different technologies, different protocols and different network
architectures that will be supported in the fourth generation
wireless networks.
This meeting will play a pivotal role in setting the parameters for
4G technologies. It will be your chance to meet the major
decision-makers working in the 4G arena.
THE AUDIENCE
This Technical Symposium will be well attended by network engineers,
network planners, technical strategists and network developers from
mobile operators, research institutes and vendors who need to know
the latest developments in enhanced 3G and the evolution to 4G
networks
