Comunicao Sem Fio

General Information on MWCN 2001
================================

The MWCN'2001 conference to be held in Recife in the North East of Brazil,
seeks to address and capture highly innovative and state of the art research
and work in the wireless industry. The scope of the conference includes a
wide range de technical challenges such as the growing Internet access using
cellular and wireless interfaces, the evolution to third generation cellular
architectures. The conference also looks at discussing and evaluating
recently emerging new technologies and services such as the Bluetooth
protocols and architecture and the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP).
The success of these nascent technolgies clearly depends on the ability to
offer low cost and efficient end-user applications.

MWCN'2001 is the third conference in its series aimed at stimulating technical
exchange in the emerging and important field of mobile and Wireless
Communications Networks.

Mobility and connection management, location management, connection
establishment, quality of service provisioning, inter-working of wire-lines
with wireless networks for voice, video, image and data are some of the focus
areas in wireless networking of this conference.

In the last few years with the development of digital technologies, satellites
have also emerged in the forefront of multimedia delivery techniques. From
using current digital broadcast systems for web access to developing
sophisticated platform for integrated services. Satellite networking is now a
well-established solution for the broadband needs of the new millennium.

This conference is intended to provide a timely forum for exploratory research
and practical contributions from North and Latin America, European, Middle
East and Far East. The official language of the conference for submission of
a paper and or an extended abstract and view graphs is English. This conference
will identify the theoretical and actual problems that face designers of
today's complex problems associated with mobile and wireless communications
links and networks. Its participants will explore modeling and simulation
tools as well as analytical methodologies and techniques for dealing with
mobile and wireless systems. The objective of this event is to foster the
exchange of information among researchers in this fast-moving field.
The program will include presentations by distinguished researchers, speaking
on recent advances in theory and practice, with ample time for discussions
both between presentations and at the end of each session.
