2002 International Conference on 3G Wireless and Beyond
San Fransiso USA
May 28-31 2002
CALL FOR SUBMISSION
The 3G Wireless Technical Forum, Wireless Mobile ATM Task Force,
IEEE Technical Subcommittee on 3Gwireless and Beyond, and IEEE
local chapters (pending) in Silicon Valley announce a forthcoming
International Conference on Third Generation Wireless and Beyond to
be held on May 28 thru 31, 2002 in San Francisco (Silicon Valley)
of United States, with numerous workshops, tutorials as well as
business panel sessions on this significant next wireless storm.
There has been tremenduous interest recently in third generation
(3G) wireless mobile systems and beyond (4G). 3Gwireless, scheduled
to start services around the year 2001, has been the very hot
subject of much research and many standardization activities
throughout the world. Many 3G/4G related study committees are
taking the initiative to produce own proposals of radio
transmission technologies, wireless applications protocols, All-IP
wireless network architectures and advanced system prototypes for
3Gwireless and 4Gmobile. The objective of this conference is to
gather the research and development papers in this field and
present an overview of the-state-of-the-art of this 3Gwireless
storm - globally or locally, as well as perspectives on future
development in order to promote future research activities as well
as business strategies.
Original contributions are invited on recent research and
development of 3Gwireless (and 4Gmobile) systems and networks such
as UMTS, wmATM (wireless mobile ATM), Software Definable Radio,
Wireless Mobile Internet, Wireless Application Protocols, Wireless
Multimedia, Wireless Video, Wireless Access, All-IP Wireless
Architecture, etc. The topics of interest within the scope of this
conference include (but are not limited to) the following:
* 4Gmobile initiatives, e.g. higher datarate, best QoS, spectrum
efficient, access control, All-IP wireless terminal, security,
convergence, intelligence

specialized services, etc.
* 3Gwireless investment, evaluation, strategy, licensing, marketing,
policy, etc
* All emerging wireless issues
The submitted papers will be reviewed by referees according to the
ordinary rules of the IEEE Conference. Each paper is, in principle,
limited to six printed pages. Original, unpublished contribution
will be considered for this conference presentation as well as
proceedings. Prospective authors are requested to send extended
summary (3~5 Pages) of their manuscripts to the following address
(Electronic Submission is highly encouraged, please refer to
instructions on the web site) in electronic mean or hardcopy
according to the following timetable (refer to HERE for details).
Result will be announced after full technical reviewing process.
The deadline for the initial paper submission is November 15, 2001.
In addition to regular technical papers, proposals of tutorials,
workshops and panel sessions are also welcome.
