Wireless communications and mobile computing are redefining computing as
a discipline. The impact ranges from medical, to military, to
industrial, to societal. Recently, a number of computer scientists
joined the hot field of wireless networks research in order to apply
mathematical and algorithmic tools in solving existing problems, and
identify fundamental challenges and future perspectives.
The emphasis of the special issue will be on applications of design and
analysis of algorithms, computational geometry, trigonometry,
combinatorial, graph theoretical and vector algebra tools in wireless
networks. Topics from wireless networks include but are not limited to:
-Resource management in cellular and satellite networks
-Mobility management
-Data management issues, query processing, data delivery
-QoS routing in multimedia wireless networks
-Fixed and dynamic channel assignment
-Multiple access schemes for mobile radio networks
-Energy-efficient protocols for mobile radio networks
-Sensor networks
-Wireless ATM and LANs
-Routing, broadcasting and multicasting in wireless networks
- Broadcast scheduling, fairness
- Modeling and simulation of wireless networks
-Fault tolerance and security issues.
