September 2 - September 4, 2002
Norwegian University of Science and technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway.
The EUNICE network (http://www.eunice-forum.org/) has been created to
foster the mobility of students, faculty members and research scientists
working in the field of information and communication technologies and to
promote educational and research cooperation between its member
institutions.
EUNICE? 2002 will be the eighth Summer School organised by the EUNICE
network. The main goal of the Summer School is to give researchers and
particularly Ph.D. students the opportunity to present their work at an
international level. For this eighth occurrence, EUNICE 2002 will be
associated with the international IFIP WG.6.7 Workshop on Adaptable
Networks and Teleservices.
The Summer School will take the form of research paper presentations and a
series of tutorials, by experts in the field, on selected topics in the
area of Adaptable Networks and Teleservices.
Call for Contributions
The main theme of Adaptable Networks and Teleservices covers the
functionality required for controlling, managing or adapting to changing
situations related to network conditions, teleservice offerings and user

- introduction of new services and functions
- introduction of new customers, users or user equipment
- roaming subscribers, terminal users and terminal equipment
- downloading/plug-in or introducing new hardware and/or software (for
example, coders, servers, routers, links, base stations, system software,
applications)
- handling traffic and QoS changes (offered traffic volume, content
traffic mix, geographic distribution)
- handling of hardware, software or data errors
Topics include, but are not limited to: specification, implementation and
validation of principles, methods and mechanisms supporting adaptive
functionality as described above related to:
- Ad hoc Networks, Mobile Systems
- Programmable and Active Networks
- Hybrid Networks
- Intelligent Networks, Smartnet, Mobile Agents, Plug and Play
- Location- and Context-based Services
- Adaptive Architectures and Protocols
- Service Discovery Protocols
