5th European Personal Mobile Communications Conference
The Ubiquitous Provision of Innovative Wireless Services
22-25 April 2003, Glasgow, Scotland
http://www.epmcc.com/

   The Conference

Wireless Communications is moving rapidly towards
the provision of multimedia services with a user-centric focus. This
provision will occur at the home, at the workplace, at leisure and
during travel. Therefore the vision is the ubiquitous provision of
wireless services which will become more and more innovative as they
are driven by the demands of the user and as a result of competition
between the service providers. This is the theme which has been chosen
for the 5^th European Personal Mobile Communications Conference which
will be held in Glasgow from 22 25 April 2003. The focus of the
Conference will be the technical challenges which need to be met in
order to make the vision of the ubiquitous provision of innovative
   wireless services a reality.

The conference was first held in Bologna in 1995 to mark the centenary
of the experiments on radio transmission carried out by Guglielmo
Marconi. It has been held on a bi-annual basis in the capitals of
Germany, France and Austria since then and has become established as
the leading mobile communications conference based in Europe.

University of Strathclyde campus In 2003 the conference will be held
at the University of Strathclyde 22 - 25 April and will be preceded,
on 22 April, by a series of tutorials by leading experts on topics in
3^rd and 4^th generation wireless systems. The General Chair of the
conference is Professor John Dunlop, University of Strathclyde.

The conference will be managed by the Institution of Electrical
Engineers and will be divided into two parallel tracks. Track 1 will
be concerned with radio propagation issues and track 2 will be
concerned with services and protocols for radio communications
systems. The themes to be covered by the conference include:

   Ad-hoc wireless networks
   Adaptive mobile systems
