Optical MEMS (MOEMS)-based Communications Components, Devices and Subsystems
Scope:
It is very clear that Optical MEMS (MOEMS) technologies have already
impacted the optical communications components, devices, subsystems,
and systems. It is expected that these technologies will be shaping
the future All-Optical IP-Networks. They are shrinking the size of
components and devices, increasing the performance, lowering the cost,
etc. Therefore, there will be a big market for the MOEMS-based
communications components and devices. Furthermore, the emerging
nano-technology might combine the MOEMS to achieve more advantages to
optical communications components, devices, and subsystems. Hence, we
would like to have this Feature Topic published in the March 2003
issue of IEEE Communications Magazine and distributed at the 2003
Optical Fiber Communications Conference (OFC 2003).
This Feature Topic seeks to present a series of state-of-the-art
articles on MOEMS-based communications components, devices, and
subsystems. In particular, we are interested in tutorial and survey
articles on, but not limited to, the following topics:
* MOEMS-based Concepts for Communications components, Devices, and
Subsystems
* MOEMS-based Systems Architecture for Communications components,
Devices, and Subsystems
* MOEMS-based Designs for Communications components, Devices, and
Subsystems
* MOEMS-based Technologies for Communications components, Devices,
and Subsystems
* MOEMS-based Manufacturing for Communications components, Devices,
and Subsystems
Schedule:
Submission Deadline: October 1, 2002
Acceptance Notification: November 30, 2002
Final Manuscript Due: December 31, 2002
Publication Date: March 1, 2003
Submission:
Please submit your complete paper in a .doc or .pdf file to our
