Note from the Program Chair: Due to confusion over deadlines and numerous
author requests the deadline for submission of papers to CNDS 2003 has
been extended a final time to Nov. 1, 2002. Abstract submissions are
*not*
required. Please see the conference WWW site for details (URL:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The objective of CNDS is to serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas
among international researchers on advances in the design and performance
analysis of communication networks and distributed systems. CNDS attracts
excellent papers covering a range of topics of interest to the community.
CNDS'03 featured 12 paper sessions including 3 on Wireless Systems and
2 on Ad Hoc Networking. It also featured sessions dedicated to Simulation
Methods and Emerging Topics; One half of the participants in 2002 were
International.

CNDS'03 seeks papers are that emphasize either simulation methodology or
application in the areas of high speed networking, wireless
communications, multimedia applications, computer architecture and
distributed, parallel and mobile computing systems. The structure of the
conference is designed to facilitate collegiality and continuity of
discussion among the conference speakers and attendees on the topics
covered during the week. Papers are solicited from not limited to the
following topics:

        * Pervasive Computing
        * Distributed Sensor Networks
        * Ad Hoc Networks
        * Power Control in Wireless Networks
        * Mobility Modeling
        * Mobility Management
        * Simulating Wireless Networks
        * Advances in Large Scale Network Simulation
        * Switch and Processor Architectures for High Speed Routers
        * Advances in Computer Architecture and Memory Systems
        * Switch and Processor Architectures for High Speed Routers
        * Advances in Computer Architecture and Memory Systems
        * Network and Parallel Computing
        * Real-Time and Mobile Web-Based Computing

IMPORTANT DATES:

November 1, 2002 Final (HARD) Paper Submission Deadline.

December 15, 2002 Camera Ready Paper Deadline.

KEYNOTE ADDRESS: TBA

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS:

Original, high-quality technical papers, addressing significant aspects
of the design, modeling, or performance analysis of communication
networks and distributed systems are solicited for review, possible
presentation and subsequent publication in the conference proceedings.
Papers that include well-conceived or innovative simulation modeling
techniques with strong results and analysis are especially sought.
Abstract are strongly encouraged but not required in advance of the
final papers. All submissions are to be made electronically to SCS via
the proceedings management system: http://scs.proceedingscentral.com.
Submissions should not exceed 25 double-spaced, 8.5x11 inch pages
(including figures, tables, and references) in 10-12 point font. Include
five to ten keywords, complete postal and e-mail addresses, and fax and
phone numbers of corresponding author. Papers must be in English. For
further instructions, please refer to the Upload Instructions in the
Author Center of the Proceedings Central web site. Confirmations will be
sent to the contact author when the file has been retrieved and
successfully viewed or printed. Only original unpublished material will
be considered for publication.

All submissions will be fully refereed for accuracy, technical content,
and relevance. In 2003 approximately 40% of paper submissions were
accepted---accepted manuscripts are limited to 6 single-spaced pages. SCS
allows extended papers at a per-page fee. Accepted papers will appear in
the conference's proceedings to be published by the Society for Modeling
and Simulation International. Instructions for submitting camera ready
papers will be sent to authors following paper acceptance. Authors of top
papers will also be encouraged to submit a follow-on paper to the
International Journal in Computer Simulation. Authors must obtain
employer, client, or government releases prior to submittal of the final
manuscript.
manuscript.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Program Chair, Prof. McDonald with
any questions concerning the paper submission and review process, or
questions regarding the relevance of a paper to the conference.
