MWN 2003: Workshop on Mobile and Wireless Networks
To be held in conjunction with the 23rd International
Conference on Distributed Computing Systems
May 19-22, 2003
Providence, Rhode Island, USA
________________________________________________________________________
Mobile and wireless networks have experienced an explosive growth during
the last few years. Indeed, it has been noticed that mobile and wireless
networks are gradually emerging as a discipline. Their impact ranges
from medical, to military, to industrial, to societal. The workshop
intends to bring together leading researchers in this hot field of
research in order to identify the fundamental challenges and future
perspective of this important area. Topics of interest include, but are
not limited to:
-Resource management in cellular and satellite networks
-Mobility management
-Data management issues, query processing, data delivery
-QoS routing in multimedia wireless networks
-Fixed and dynamic channel assignment
-Multiple access schemes for ad hoc networks
-Energy-efficient protocols for ad hoc networks
-Sensor networks
-Wireless ATM and LANs
-Wireless Internet
-Routing, broadcasting and multicasting in ad hoc networks
-Fault tolerance and security issues.
*** Submission Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit an electronic version of original,
unpublished manuscripts, not to exceed 20 double-spaced pages, to either
of the workshop co-chairs (ivan@site.uottawa.ca or zhang@cs.ua.edu).
A clearly marked appendix can be used for supporting material including
proofs, simulation results, diagrams, etc. Submissions should be in PDF,
Postscript or Microsoft Word format. Authors should make sure that the
submission can be printed on a regular printer that uses standard letter
size paper (8.5" x 11"). Submissions must be received by the deadline.
All submitted papers will be refereed by at least three reviewers in
terms of originality, contribution, correctness, and presentation. The
accepted papers will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press.
