ICT 2003 - Electronic Call for Papers

The 2003 International Conference on Information and Communication
Technologies (ICT 2003) will be held in Assumption University, Thailand,
during April 8-10, 2003.

Note: The authors from overseas will have an unique opportunity to
participate for several days after the conference in the national Songkran
Festival (Thai New Year, April 13, 2003).

Assumption University has an outstanding reputation in organizing similar
events for the past several years.
The conference is planned to become an annual forum with a strong
international flavor.

The authors are invited to submit research papers of maximum 10 pages and/or
a proposal to organize a technical session/workshop. All accepted papers
will be published in the conference proceedings.

Topics of ICT 2003 include, but are not limited to the following:

I. Information and Communication Technologies in the Education System:
-          Innovative Bandwidth Arrangements for the Education and Training
Sector
-          Communication and Multimedia Technologies
-          New Interactive Communication Applications
-          Learning Networks
-          E-learning
-          Digital Library Research
II. Technical Aspects of Information and Communication Technologies:
-          Wireless, Optical, Satellite, and Deep Space Information and
Communication Systems
-          Communication infrastructure of public and private networks
-          Communication systems and software
-          Data networking systems
-          The computing aspects of communication systems
-          Databases and storage systems
-          XML, distributed systems and the Web
-          Operating systems and software system design and implementation
-          Protocols and algorithms
-          Industrial Applications
-          Mobile Computing, etc.
III. E-commerce
IV. Telemedicine, Telematics for Elderly and Disabled People
V. Disaster-Management Information and Communication Systems

Submission of Papers
Prospective authors are invited to submit an electronic version (preferably
as an .doc file) of their paper to ICT Secretariat by the due date.
The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 10
(IEEE style) pages.
Papers must not have been previously published or currently submitted for
publication elsewhere.

Typing Instructions
The first page of the paper should include: title of the paper, the full
name(s) of the author(s), affiliation, complete postal address, E-mail
address, telephone number, and fax number for each author. The first page
should also include an abstract, and a maximum of 5 keywords.

The standard two-column IEEE typesetting format (or similar) for conference
proceedings should be followed for the camera-ready versions of the
manuscripts.

Proposal for Organizing Technical Sessions
Each technical session will have at least 5 paper presentations. The session
chairs will be responsible for all aspects of their sessions; including,
soliciting papers, reviewing, selecting, etc.

Proposals to organize technical sessions should include the following
information: full name and complete address, E-mail, title of session, a
short description of the topic of the session, and a short description on
how the session will be advertised to colleagues and researchers whose work
is related to the session proposal.

Evaluation Process
Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and
soundness.
Each paper will be evaluated by three referees.
The camera-ready papers will be reviewed by the conference organizers.

Publication
The conference proceedings will be published by Assumption University
(ISBN).
The proceedings will be available at the conference.
In addition to the hardcopy, it is also planned to publish the papers on the
Web for ICT authors and members.

Organizers/Sponsors
A number of university faculty members and their staff will be organizing
the conference. The conference will be sponsored by Assumption University
together with research centers and societies, international research groups,
and developers. The complete list of sponsors and co-sponsors will be
available at a later time.

Location of Conference
The conference will be held in Assumption University, Bang Na Campus,
Bangkok, Thailand. Bang Na Campus provides excellent conference facilities.
The hotel is on campus, 30 minutes from the Center of Bangkok with regular
bus transportation to Hua Mak Campus of the University.

Exhibition
An exhibition is planned for the duration of the conference. Interested
parties should contact ICT Secretariat.
All exhibitors will be considered to be the co-sponsors of the conference.

Important Dates:
Submission deadline: January 9, 2003
Acceptance notification: February 9, 2003
Camera ready due: March 9, 2003
Registration fee due: March 9, 2003

Proposals to organize technical sessions should be submitted as soon as
possible. All accepted papers are expected to be presented at the
conference.

the Program Committee should E-mail ICT Secretariat the following
information: full name, affiliation and position, complete mailing address,
E-mail address, tel/fax numbers, and a short biography together with
research interests.
