ICEET03 - CALL FOR PAPERS
This is an invitation to Authors wishing to make technical contributions
to the ICEET03.
DATES: August 18 - 19, 2003
VENUE: University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Technology
ICEET03 is the third in its series organized by the Faculty of Electrical
and Computer Systems Engineering (ECSE) (formerly known as Electrical
Engineering Department) of the University of Dar es Salaam in
collaboration with the Electric Power Engineering Department of The Royal
Institute of Technology - Sweden, the High Voltage Institute of Uppsala
University and High Voltage Engineering Department of Chalmers University.
The first conference (ICEET99) took place in 1999 and the second
conference (ICEET01) took place in 2001 which the participants found them
very successful.
Aim of the Conference
The aim of ICEET03 is to bring together Engineers from Academic and
Research Institutions as well as Industries of both developed and
developing countries for the purpose of exchanging ideas and progress made
in recent years in the diverse areas of specialization in Electrical and
Technology.
Scope of the Conference
Prospective contributing authors are invited to submit papers on the
topics suggested below. However, authors may also submit papers on other
topics relevant to the wider field of Electrical Engineering. The
suggested topics are:
1. Information and Multimedia
2. Informatics for Pre-University Education
3. Telecommunications
4. Development of Low Cost Electrical Machines
5. Control of Electrical Drives
6. Electric Vehicles, High speed Electrical Machines
7. Alternative Energy Sources
8. Hybrid Electrical Power Generating Systems
9. Rural Electrification
10. Electrical Power Quality, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
11. Protection of Electronic Equipment
12. Electrical Insulation
13. Innovation and Adaptation of Technology
14. Power Systems
15. Computer Systems
16. Other topics in the Electrical and Computer Engineering fields
Conference Language
The working language of ICEET03 will be English. Thus, all the relevant
correspondences and documentation should be in English.
Abstract and Digest
Prospective authors of papers (including posters) to be considered for
inclusion in the technical program should, at this stage, submit in A4
format:
1. Two copies of a double-sided ABSTRACT of not more than 50 words. The
abstract page should show paper title, authors name(s) and affiliations,
corresponding author, postal and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax
numbers. The abstract should also indicate the most relevant topic number
from the above-suggested list. If you are connected to the internet, this
information is also available at http://www.ee.udsm.ac.tz/iceet03/.
2. Four copies of a double-spaced DIGEST not exceeding 3 pages for review
process. The digest should not show the authors' names while it should
clearly outline the work to be presented, the objectives and goals to be
achieved. Inclusion of key equations, figures, tables and references is
encouraged.

January 10, 2003: Submission of Abstract and Digest
March 14, 2003:Notification of Acceptance
June 20, 2003: Submission of camera-ready Paper
Exhibits and Advertisements
Space will be available for exhibits related to the conference topic.

Registration Fee
The registration fee for the ICEET03 will be US$ 200 (US $100 for
students) to cover the costs of the conference which include
documentation, proceedings, refreshments, e-mail/internet. Please, note
that these fees are for one person only and they do not cover
accommodation and travel/tourism
