PLACE AND HOST
The Belarussian Workshops on Queueing Theory (BWQT)
have been held usually in winter time annually since 1985
and biennially since 1999 in one
of the Belarusian towns. This time the BWQT-17 is being
arranged on September 23-25, 2003 at the Gomel State
University, Gomel. The present official name of Workshop is:
International scientifis conference "Modern mathematical methods
for analysis and optimization of communication networks".
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
The conference will deal with various aspects of queues,
flows and networks. It is aimed to discuss new theoretical
results of this area and to share already existing experiences
in the practical problems.
The list of topics includes but not restricted by the
following major topics:
- Event flows
- Queueing systems
- Queueing networks
- Statistical analysis of queues
- Applications of the queueing theory in the communication
and computer networks.

VENUE
Gomel is the second in population and meaning city of Belarus.
The city is very picturesque.
ACCOMMODATION
Gomel is located in about 300 km from Minsk.
There is an International Airport in Minsk and there is one fligth
from Minsk to Gomel per day. There are 10 trains from Minsk to Gomel,
2 trains from Moscow to Gomel and about 2 trains from Kiev to
Gomel. However, if you move via Moscow or Kiev you need
additionally Russian or Ukranian visa.
The costs of a single-room in the hotels are approximately $45
per night.
DEADLINES AND REQUIREMENTS
Papers (up to 6 pages) in Russian or English are to be
submitted by usual mail (with 3.5 diskette)
or electronic mail. They should be
typed in LATEX, font 14pt or Microsoft Word 7.0 (by the
font "Normal Times New Roman 14" or (as an
exception for the abstracts without formulae) in ASCII-format.
Accepted papers are expected to be published in Workshop Proceedings
to the start of the Workshop.

The registration fee is $100
(for postgraduate students - $50).
