and Liu Xingzhao, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China

This is the sixth in the series of IEEE CAS Workshop/Symposiums on Emerging
Technologies and continues an emphasis on the technologies for wireless
communication. Third generation (3G) cellular mobile voice and data systems
are being launched, but the industry still needs powerful, low-cost
technologies in the tradition of those that stimulated the overwhelming
success of 2G systems. This is the critical time to pause, reflect on the
technologies we have, and look ahead to new technologies and both 3G-4G and
wireless LAN (WLAN) systems that they will make possible.

Contributions are solicited in (but not limited to) the following topical
areas: Mixed-signal integrated circuits, Software radio, Low power
circuits, Ultra-wideband (UWB) radio, Power control issues, Sensor devices
and networks, Space-time processing, Channel estimation and tracking,
Interference cancellation in multiple-user systems, Interference mitigation
between wireless systems, Digital modulation systems (e.g. OFDM), Multiple
air interface devices, Smart antennas, Cellular/WLAN interoperability, MIMO
channels and capacity, Device technologies, Technologies for Internet
appliances, Industry views on future devices, systems, and networking.

Papers of no more than 4 double-spaced (10-point font) printed pages,
including figures, should be submitted via
http://start-mwc.ee.nd.edu. Full instructions are posted there.
