WISICT
2004 Winter International Symposium on
Information and Communication Technologies

January 5-8th, 2004
The purpose of WISICT 04 is to provide an international forum for discussion
between theoreticians and practitioners and to promote an inter disciplinary
exchange of research ideas. We invite papers exploring all aspects of
Computer and Communication Technologies. Topics of interest include, but are
not limited to:
* Computer Science
* Information Technology and Systems
* Communication Technology
* Networks, Control Systems
* Image, Acoustic, Speech and Signal Processing
* Experience and Applications
The First International Symposium on Information and Communication
Technologies was held in Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, September 2003.
There are two principal modes of paper submission:
MODE I : Invited Workshop Organization
To chair and organize a workshop at WISICT04 send an email to
workshops@wisict.org with the title, a description of the topic of your
proposed workshop up to two hundred words in length, and the name(s) of the
workshop organizer(s) and chair(s) as soon as possible and before 15th July
2003. If your proposal is suitable, you will receive preliminary approval
notification within a few days. Final approval will depend upon submission
and registration of at least FOUR papers in the workshop by the WISICT04
camera ready deadline of 1st September 2003. The organizer(s) of
pre-approved workshops will be responsible for advertising their workshop,
using electronic or other means, and for the reviewing process for their
workshop's papers or extended abstracts, and for the notification to
WISICT04 of accepted papers. The organizer(s) of approved workshops will be
added to the WISICT04 programme committee and be editors of the WISICT04
conference proceedings.
MODE II : Stand-Alone Papers
Papers must be uploaded in WORD or PDF format using this FORM by 1st August
2003 for review. Please submit either an extended abstract or short paper of
up to 6 pages in length. Papers should be formatted so that they are
single-spaced, single column, and use a 12pt Times font. All papers
submitted will be reviewed in full by reviewers from independent
institutions.

The Venue
Cancun is Mexico's top tourist destination. Located on the tip of the
Yucatan peninsula it's beaches are unparalleled offering gleaming white
sands and the clear blue-green waters of the Caribbean. A wide range of
restaurants, exciting night life, a variety of shopping opportunities and
the overall tropical atmosphere draw over two million visitors a year.
Cancun is situated in the state of Quintana Roo on the eastern coast of
Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, a seal-head shaped land mass that stares
longingly towards Cuba from Guatemala and Belize. With ancient ruins and
white tropical beaches, five-star hotels and secluded getaways, golf and
romantic dinner cruises, Cancun offers fabulous vacations on an exotic
island setting.
Ideally located in the heart of the Hotel Zone (Punta Cancun), Hyatt Regency
Cancun is surrounded by the magnificent turquoise blue Caribbean Sea and
just a few steps away from the major shopping malls, the finest restaurants
and bars, the best night life of Cancun and the most important Mayan ruins
and archeological sites. The hotel features a sky lit dome topped atrium
filled with tropical greenery, 300 spacious rooms with a unique choice of
accommodations. Each room with a magnificent ocean view, ocean front or Isla
Mujeres view from its private balcony.
Registration
The Early Registration Fee includes printed proceedings with ISBN, admission
to all sessions, banquet and refreshments and applies to all registrations
received before 1st September 2003.

Camera Ready Instructions
* Your papers should be typeset for ISO A4 paper (210cm x 297cm). If you
can only print on a different sized paper (e.g. US letter size),
please be mindful that we'll be copying it on to A4 paper.
* You should leave at least a 2.5cm margin (roughly 1 inch) all around
the page - i.e. left/right sides, as well as top and bottom. Please
make sure that any footnotes also keep clear of the margins.
* You should use a 12pt font, preferably Times Roman. Fonts for embedded
code or tables may be varied at your discretion.
* Do not print page numbers, or use running headers and footers on the
pages.
* Do not use a multi-column format (e.g. two or three columns)
* The first page of the paper should contain (at least)
o The paper title (large, bold font, centered)
o The author(s) and their affiliations, centered
o A brief abstract
* Internal styles for headings, figures, references etc. within the
document are at your own discretion.
* The page limit for papers is SIX pages. There is an extra charge for
papers longer than this.
* Papers must be uploaded in WORD or PDF format using this FORM by 1st
September 2003.
