SAC 2004
--------
For the past eighteen years the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC) has
been a primary forum for applied computer scientists, computer engineers and
application developers to gather, interact, and present their work. SAC is
sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing (SIGAPP);
its proceedings are published by ACM in both printed form and CD-ROM; they
are also available on the web through ACM's Digital Library. More information
about SIGAPP and past SACs can be found at http://www.acm.org/sigapp/. For the
official web site of SAC 2004, please visit www.acm.org/conferences/sac/sac2004
SPECIAL TRACK ON COMPUTER NETWORKS (CN)
---------------------------------------
A special track on Computer Networks will be held in SAC2004. This track aims
to be a forum for scientists, engineers and practitioners, in academia, industry
and research institutes to share technical ideas, experiences and results, and
to present their latest findings in any aspects of Computer Networks. The Track
will emphasize the design, implementation and applications of computer networks.
Major topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
- High-speed Networking Architectures
- Network Protocols
- Multicast
- Multimedia Communication
- Hierarchical Networks
- Quality of Service (QoS)
- Reliability and Fault-Tolerance
- Performance Analysis
- Network Measurement and Modeling
- Traffic Engineering and Characterization=09
- Congestion and/or Flow Control
- High-performance Transport Protocols
- Network Control and Management
- Network Survivability and Adaptability
- Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs)
- Peer to Peer and Overlay Networks
- Peer-to-Peer architectures
- Self-organization, Performance and
Security Issues in Peer-to-Peer Networks
- Network Security
Guidelines for Submission
-------------------------
- Author(s) are encouraged to submit electronic copies of their papers
(in postscript or pdf format) via e-mail to saccn04@cs.utsa.edu
by September 6, 2003. Those who cannot submit electronic copies must
submit six (6) laser-quality printed copies via regular mail to track
co-chair Turgay Korkmaz (see address below).
- The name(s) and address(es) of the author(s) must not appear in the
body of the paper, and self-reference should be in the third person.
This is to facilitate blind review.
- Include a cover letter with the title and the abstract of the paper,=
the name, affiliation, address, email, phone, and fax of the author
who serves as the contact person for the paper.
- The paper should not exceed 4,000 words (approximately 15 pages,
double-spaced, 12-point font size).
- Authors will be notified about the review results by October 18, 200=3.
- Authors of the accepted papers will be expected to include the comme=nts
from the reviewers and submit the final camera-ready manuscript
by November 8, 2003.
- A set of selected papers, which did not get accepted as full papers,=
will be accepted as poster papers and will be published as exte=nded
