CALL FOR PAPERS
Special Issue on "Real time media delivery over the Internet"
http://www.mine.tku.edu.tw/jit-imis

Theme and Scope

Within the last years, multimedia communications have received considerable
attention from the research community. Internet has proved to be a widely
deployed infrastructure for providing advanced audio-visual services.
Furthermore, there is a growing trend for developing multimedia applications
that let users customize their multimedia experience. However, many issues
have emerged, regarding real-time media delivery and its adjustment to user
diverse requirements. The proposed mechanisms should offer reliability,
scalability and QoS guarantees. What is most important is that the
distribution infrastructure be able to cope with heterogeneous networking
environments. This special issue of the JIT will collect and archive the
state of the art in the provision and support of media distribution
mechanisms for existing and future network technologies. Authors are
encouraged to submit high quality papers addressing various aspects of media
delivery over Internet. Areas of interest include but are not limited to the
following topics:

- Overlay networks for live streaming
- Streaming video in heterogeneous environments
- Peer to peer networks
- Relay servers and content delivery networks
- Adaptive video delivery for real time streaming
- Multi-path streaming
- Streaming over wireless networks
- Streaming over QoS enabled networks
- Scalability and performance issues for real time streaming media
- Emerging applications and services offering real time media deliver

Papers submitted to the special issue should contain original materials not
published in nor submitted to other journals. Papers should be written in
English in a single-column, double-spaced format, less than or equal to 25
pages. Four copies of your manuscript to this special issue should be sent to
the guest editors:
