IEEE SARNOFF SYMPOSIUM STUDENT PAPER/POSTER CONTEST

$850 in Award Money!

Paper submission Deadline:  Jan. 24th 2004

A student paper/poster session and student paper/poster contest will
be held at the IEEE Sarnoff Symposium to be held at the Nassau Inn in
Princeton, NJ, USA on Tuesday, April 27, 2004. Please pass this
information along to your students and colleagues.

ALL RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED IN ORDER FOR A PAPER/POSTER TO BE CONSIDERED
FOR AN AWARD:

1.  Any full or part time graduate or undergraduate student(s) is eligible
to compete.

2.  The student must be the primary author of the paper.  Multiple student
co-authors are allowed; any award awarded will be split by the student
co-authors. The academic faculty advisor may be a co-author, however,
award money is awarded to students only.

3.  Paper topics should be research oriented and must be consistent with
the theme of the Symposium (Advances in Wired and Wireless
Communications). The paper format is four page maximum.  The paper will be
published in the symposium digest if it is received by the deadline.

4.  The student(s) must also prepare and present a poster at the
symposium. Poster Format:  A 4 foot by 4 foot posterboard and thumbtacks
will be provided.

5.  Paper Contest Judging Criteria - Paper topics must be consistent with
the theme of the Symposium.  Awards will be based on:

        1.  Originality
        2.  Quantitative Content
        3.  Paper Quality
        4.  Poster Presentation Quality (content and presentation)

6.  Student Paper/Poster Award:     First Place:   $500.00
                                    Second Place:  $250.00
                                    Third Place:   $100.00

Papers must be submitted electronically in pdf format by Jan. 24th 2004 to
the following address:   cheng@cse.lehigh.edu  Papers not received by
Jan. 24th 2004 will not be published in the Symposium Proceedings.
