Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the ELMAR-2004 organising committee, I have the pleasure to
bring to your attention that the 46th International Symposium ELMAR-2004
(focused on Navigation, Multimedia and Marine) is to be held in Zadar,
Croatia on 16-18 June, 2004.

The 46th International Symposium ELMAR-2004 focused on Navigation, Multimedia
and Marine will be held in the beautiful old town Zadar on the Croatian
Adriatic coast. While the scientific program is expected to create
stimulating professional interaction, the crystal clear Adriatic Sea, warm
June atmosphere and wealth of historic monuments promise a pleasant and
memorable stay. The aim of the symposium is to promote the interface of
researchers involved in the development, design and application of methods
and techniques within the framework of navigation systems, marine
electronics, multimedia communications, image and video processing, wireless
communications, etc. The scientific program includes keynote and invited
lectures by eminent international experts and contributed papers. Papers
accepted by two independent reviewers will be published in symposium
proceedings available at the symposium and abstracted in the INSPEC database.

We at ELMAR are particularly proud to be the organisers of the event with longest tradition in the field in Croatia. Additionally, ELMAR-2004 is the most important conference in the field to be held in Croatia next year. It will also be a meeting
point for scientists, engineers, developers, customers, representatives of Croatian Government and Croatian Navy. Manufacturers will be given the opportunity to present their products during numerous commercial presentations and/or on paralel
exhibition. Contributing to the ELMAR 2004 Symposium is the great opportunity to present your institution to both the scientific community and the fast growing regional market. A huge potential of forthcoming EGNOS and Galileo systems are fully
recognised, and the ELMAR 2004 Organising committee will be particularly grateful for the contributions in the field of system and applications development.

We have just redesigned the ELMAR web-site, and all information (including
the ELMAR-2004 Call for papers) can be found at:

For your convenience, I have attached a PDF-file with the ELMAR-2004 Call for
papers. Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding any related inquiry.

Your kind assistance in informing your colleagues about the ELMAR-2004
Symposium will be very appreciated.

Wish you a lot of good health and professional success in 2004!
