The Seventh International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia
Communications (WPMC 04)

September 12-15, 2004 - Abano Terme - Padova (ITALY)
http://www.dei.unipd.it/WPMC2004

Symposium Background and Goals

The focus of the seventh edition of WPMC will be on Reconfigurable
Heterogeneous Multimedia Wireless Networks and Applications. New broadband
wireless access techniques in conjunction with an extensive use of IP are
driving to the provision of novel services and applications and extensive
efforts are being undertaken by the research, industrial and standardization
community to define broadband wireless systems to support them. Both
horizontal and vertical seamless handover between heterogeneous networks is
envisaged, together with a deep integration of all standards in a single
transceiver. The main challenges for the next future are, hence, related to
the development of multimedia multi-standard terminals and networks as well
as to the provision of newly-conceived services.

WPMC'04 will consist of Tutorials, Panels and Technical Sessions. Authors are invited to submit or describing original research results, innovative applications, and experimental or field/test results in any of, but not limited to, the following
Technical Subject Areas:

-· Wireless Personal Communications Systems
-· Mobile Communications Systems
-· Horizontal and Vertical Handovers
-· Security in Wireless Communications Systems
-· Broadband Access Techniques and Systems
-· Wireless IP and QoS
-· Multimedia Applications
-· Wireless Ad-hoc Networks
-· Software Defined Radio
-· Wireless PAN, LAN, MAN, WLL Systems

Conference Location:

The conference will be held in Abano Terme, just one hour far from Venice, in
the attractive scenario of the Euganean Hills. Ancient Romans enjoyed the
curative powers of Abano's thermal springs, that attracted, throughout the
centuries, famous artists such as Shakespeare, Goethe and Mozart.
