IEEE WIRELESS COMMUNICATION AND NETWORKING CONFERENCE
Sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society
13-17 March 2005 - New Orleans, LA USA
- Preliminary Call for Papers, Tutorials & Business Applications
Sessions -
WCNC 2005 will most likely be co-located once again with the Cellular
Telecommunications Industry Association's premier tradeshow CTIA
WIRELESS 2005. WCNC 2005 will continue its tradition in offering the
best and most current tutorials, research results, and
industry-oriented technical contents and perspectives on terrestrial
wireless communications and systems. With the steady recovery of the
telecommunications industry sector, more 3G cellular mobile systems
are being rolled out with increasing multimedia-oriented services and
applications. More hotspots are planned and/or deployed leading to
the proliferation of Wi-Fi wireless LANs. In research laboratories,
higher speed but shorter range radio systems such as Ultra Wideband
(UWB) are under intense development, along with the concepts of
pervasive computing and communications using wireless ad-hoc and
sensor networks. To ensure complete coverage of advances in wireless
communication and networking technologies for the current and future
systems, WCNC 2005 seeks original contributions in, but not limited
to, the following topical areas:
3G/4G wireless systems
Wireless emergency/defense systems
Wireless indoor and home networks
Wireless ad-hoc networks
Wireless sensor networks
Wireless broadband networks
WLAN, WPAN and WMAN
Multiple air interface devices
Wireless networked appliances/applications
Software defined radio
Wireless sensor devices
Handset design/user interfaces
Innovative user interfaces
Multimedia QoS support and middleware
Signaling for integrated wireline/wireless networks

CALL FOR TUTORIALS
Proposals for half/full day tutorials are also solicited based on the
topics above or others related to issues and opportunities for the
future of wireless communications, systems and applications. Tutorial
presenters will receive compensation.
CALL FOR BUSINESS APPLICATION SESSIONS (BAS)
Proposals are also solicited for Technology Panels / Business
Application Sessions in the topical areas above or others related to
business and policy-related issues and opportunities for the wireless
communications industry.
WATCH OUT FOR DETAILS
Details of each of the above (submission of regular papers, tutorial
proposals and proposals for Technology Panels / Business Application
Sessions) will be available at http://www.wcnc.org/2005 in the near
future.
