Information Fusion in Distributed Sensor Networks
Editor-in-Chief: Dr. Belur V. Dasarathy

Distributed sensor networks domain represents an evolving frontier in
technology that pushes information fusion beyond the realms of data
aggregation and association. Information fusion plays a role in the
inte-gration of smart sensors and actuators, devices and capabilities, real
and simulated sensor nodes, as well as different abstraction layers. It also
assists in the development of sensor network application with sensor nodes,
distributed & collaborative algorithms, software and hardware agents,
test-beds & experiments, and so forth, all of which contribute to facilitate
information networking in a timely manner. The Information Fu-sion Journal
has planned for publication a special issue devoted to information fusion in
the broad context of distributed sensor networks. The aim of this special
issue is to provide a focal point for recent advances in this foundational
area of information fusion and dissemination across different paradigms and
disci-plines. Submitted papers should report new contributions underpinning
fusion of data and knowledge in distributed sensor networks from various
perspectives. Topics appropriate for this special issue include (but are not
necessarily restricted to):
.	Adaptive and self-organizing fusion system architecture for distributed sensor networks
.	Integrated, network enabled smart sensors-actuators
.	Multi-sensor, multi-source fusion system architecture for distributed sensor networks
.	Middleware support for information fusion in sensor networks
.	Data collection & fusion strategies for sensor networks
.	Data mining in sensor networks
.	Distributed database processing in sensor networks
.	In-network processing and Aggregation
.	Data association in sensor networks
.	Routing and information fusion
.	Data Incest in distributed sensor networks
.	Integrated energy and resource management algorithms
.	Quality of service in data collection & fusion
.	Integration of fusion and learning in sensor networks
.	Integration of software and hardware agents for sensor network applications
.	Mechanisms for authenticated, secure communication and data fusion in sensor networks
.	Integrated test-beds, experiments, algorithms and measurements
.	Real-world sensor network applications addressing fusion of data and knowledge
