PURPOSE
The International Conference on Communication Systems (ACIT-CS 2005),
sponsored by IASTED and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of
Sciences, will take place from June 20 to June 24, 2005 in
Novosibirsk, Russia. This conference will act as a major forum for
international scientists, engineers, and industry practitioners to
present the latest research, results, ideas, developments, and
applications in all areas of automation, control, and information
technology. It aims to strengthen relations between industry, research
laboratories, and universities.
ACIT-CS 2005 will also feature:
Demonstrations of Practical Applications designed by the
institutes of the Siberian Branch of the RAS and Russian firms.
A contest between Russian firms in the field of IT and
instrument-making.
ACIT-CS 2005 will take place in conjunction with the following
conferences:
Automation, Control, and Applications (ACIT-ACA 2005)
Signal and Image Processing (ACIT-SIP 2005)
Software Engineering (ACIT-SE 2005)
LANGUAGES OF THE CONFERENCE
Working languages of the Conference are Russian and English.
Translation will be provided. All papers should be in English and will
be reviewed by IASTED.
LOCATION
ACIT-CS 2005 will take place at the House of Scientists in
Akademgorodok, a community located outside the Siberian city of
Novosibirsk. Akademgorodok was established by Russian academics in
1957 and has been credited to be the first scientific town in the
world. Since its creation, Akademgorodok has quickly become a powerful
scientific complex encompassing more than 20 scientific institutes,
including the Novosibirsk State University.
Novosibirsk, the third largest city in Russia, is situated along the
Ob River in the Southern part of Siberia. Once known for its timber
and fur skins, Novosibirsk has become a large industrial, cultural,
scientific, and transportation center in Eastern Russia. In addition
to breathtaking scenery, Novosibirsk offers many cultural and
recreational attractions including the Opera and Ballet, the
Philharmonic Society, the Botanical Gardens, and the Palace of Sports.
Conference participants will be accommodated at the Golden Valley
Hotel. An optional one-day tour by boat on the Ob River or the Ob Sea
is planned for the conference participants and their guests.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
Initial Paper
Submit your paper via our website at:
http://iasted.org/conferences/2005/Russia/submit-488.htm. All
submissions should be in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), Postscript (.ps), or MS
Word (.doc) format. The IASTED Secretariat must receive your paper by
January 15, 2005. Receipt of paper submission will be confirmed by
email.
Complete the online initial paper submission form designating an
author who will attend the conference and providing four key words to
indicate the subject area of your paper. One of the key words must be
taken from the list of topics provided under Scope. Initial paper
submissions should be approximately six pages. Formatting instructions
are available at: http://www.iasted.org/formatting-initial.htm.
Notification of acceptance will be sent via email by March 1, 2005.
Final manuscripts are due by April 15, 2005. Registration and final
payment are also due by April 15, 2005. Late registration fees or
paper submissions will result in the papers being excluded from the
conference proceedings.
Final Papers
Send your final manuscripts via email to: finalpapers@iasted.org. The
subject line for the final manuscript submission must include your
six-digit paper number. The formatting instructions can be found at:
http://www.iasted.org/formatting-final.htm and must be strictly
followed. The page limit for final papers is six single-spaced pages
in 10 point Times New Roman font. Only one paper of up to six pages is
included in the regular registration fee. There will be an added
charge for extra pages and additional papers.
TUTORIALS
Proposals for three-hour tutorials should be submitted online by
January 15, 2005. Tutorials are to be submitted via the following
website address:

tutorial proposal should clearly indicate the topic, background
knowledge expected of the participants, objectives, time allocations
for the major course topics, and the qualifications of the
instructor(s).
SPECIAL SESSIONS
Persons wishing to organize a special session should submit a proposal
via email to: calgary@iasted.org. Proposals should include a session
title, a list of the topics covered, and the qualifications and brief
biography of the session organizer(s). Papers submitted to the special
session must be received by January 15, 2005, unless otherwise
stipulated by the special session organizer. A minimum of five papers
must be registered and fully paid in order for this session to be
included in the conference program. More information on special

JOURNALS
Extended versions of papers published in the conference proceedings
can also be considered for review for inclusion in one of the IASTED
journals. Authors must submit the expanded version of their conference
paper for peer review consideration to:

standard procedure as described on the website:
http://www.actapress.com. All papers considered for journal review
must be of the highest quality and demonstrate a novel contribution to
