Dear Colleague,
You are invited to submit a paper for a special issue on wireless sensor
networks for the International Journal of Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous
Computing by the Inderscience publishers.
There has been a rapid growth in wireless sensor network research in the
past few years. Many novel architectures, protocols, algorithms, and
applications have been proposed, built and studied. The goal of this
special issues is to keep a record of the state-of-the-art research in
this fast moving area.
This special issue invites original research and review papers that
address the following issues in wireless sensor networks:
-Applications of distributed sensor actuator networks
-Fundamental limits and tradeoffs
-Information discovery, dissemination and convergecast protocols
-Distributed localization techniques
-Energy-efficient and energy-aware control strategies
-Efficient MAC and resource management protocols
-Distributed information processing algorithms
-Distributed actuation, control, and coordination
-Interaction between sensing and actuation
-QoS specification, metrics and analysis
-Information-driven, QoS-aware routing protocols
-System integrity, calibration and fault tolerance issues
-Algorithms for self-configuration, maintenance, stabilization
-Distributed data compression and aggregation techniques
-Software engineering topics
-Real-time issues
-Simulation and optimization tools
-Lessons learned from deployment experience
-Mobile sensor networks
-Security and privacy issues
-Challenges and roadmaps of sensor network research
We are also interested in short papers (letters) that clearly motivate,
formulate and address a specific problem, and short survey or position
papers that sketch the results or problems on a specific topic. Authors
of selected short papers would be invited to write a regular paper on
the same topic for future issues of the International Journal of Ad Hoc
and Ubiquitous Computing.
Submission Instruction:
Please submit papers in PDF via email to Qingfeng Huang at
qhuang@parc.com. Submitted papers must not be previously published nor
submitted for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts should be written in
English. Regular papers shall not exceed 6000 words, short papers shall
not exceed 2000 words. Hard copies should only be sent if electronic
submission is not possible. All manuscripts will be reviewed by a
selected panel of referees. The covering letter should indicate the
names of the authors and their affiliations, addresses, faxes, and
e-mails. A signed copy of the copyright release form will be required
for all accepted papers. The accepted papers are expected to be
published on Sept 15, 2005, or Dec. 15, 2005.
