General Information
ICT was first initiated by King's College London (UK) and is receiving the
support of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Region 8 and the Institute of
Electrical Engineers (IEE). Based on the initial success of Dubai in 1994. ICT has been held annually
in Bali 1995. Istanbul 1996, Melbourne 1997, Chalkidiki 1998, Jeju 1999, Acapulco 2000, Bucharest 2001,
Beijing 2002, Tahiti 2003, and Fortaleza 2004. Many scientists engineers, students, professionals and
technical staff, representing a variety of organizations such as universities, research institiutes,
telecommunication operators and equipment manufacturers have attended previous ICT events. The 12th
ICT will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, ICT 2005 will offer tutorials and workshops, plenary
sessions, poster sessions, panel sessions and exhibition opportunities.

Cape Town International Convention
Centre (CTICC) is a world-class convention centre on Cape Town's northern Foreshore. The workshop is
sponsored by the Centre for Telecommunications Research
Themes and Topics:
ICT 2005 will cover a variety of challenging telecommunication topics ranging from fundamental topics such as signals, traffic, coding and communications basics, up to large telecommunication systems spanning fixed, mobile and filly integrated
networks, applications, services, system and network management issues will also receive significant attention. the topics include, but are not limited to:
* Telecommunication/Network management and services
* Wireless communications and technologies
* Information and coding theory
* Network theory and technologies
* Optical communications
* Internet technologies
* Communication software
These topics can be discussed in terms of present and future concepts, state of the art, standards and regulation, implementation issues and applications.
Call for Participation
Participants are invited to submit original papers addressing topics in the area of telecommunications and networking for presentation and publication in the conference proceedings. The deadline for submission of a FULL PAPER is 21 January 2005. The
conference is managed online and an Author's kit containing necessary details is provided on the conference website.

Conference Date: May 3-6, 2005
Tutorials and Workshops:
Provide overviews of current high interest topics. Proposals for half or full day tutorials are due by 20 December 2004
Panel Proposals:
ICT 2005 organizers encourage engineers, scientists and industry leaders to organize dedicated panels dealing with controversial, challenging topics. Please contact the conference organizers with proposals by January 2005
