MOBILITY AND COLLABORATIVE WORK IN EUROPEAN VEHICLE EMERGENCY NETWORKS
1st Workshop on
Wireless Vehicular Communications and Services for Breakdown Support
and Car Maintenance (W-CarsCare’05)

April 10, 2005, Nicosia, Cyprus

organized by the IST-FP6 project MYCAREVENT http://www.mycarevent.com

Call For Papers

Scope of the Workshop
The Workshop on “Wireless Vehicular Communications and Services for
Breakdown Support and Car Maintenance
(W-CarsCare’05)” is the first workshop organised by the IST-MYCAREVENT
project. MYCAREVENT will improve the
collaboration of mobile users and workers by developing location and
circumstance based mobile services in
the automotive aftersales sector.
The workshop focuses on mobile technologies, protocols, services and
applications for the vehicular domain.
In particular, car maintenance, diagnostic, and roadside assistance turn out
to be a challenging application
area. The integration of wireless personal area networks, local area
networks, sensor networks, and next
generation cellular networks as well as new innovations of the computer
science offer advanced services and
applications to support drivers in breakdown situations, emergencies, and
daily use. In addition, the roadside
assistance can be supported to increase the efficiency of their operating
processes as well as the consumer
satisfaction. This workshop is directed to researchers and engineers of
mobile communication systems, mobile
services, applications, and business analysts with the special focus on
vehicular communication. The workshop’s
intention is to contribute to a mutual understanding between the wireless
research community and experts in the
automotive domain.
