   Manifesto

Advanced Industrial Conference on Telecommunications (A-ICT 2005) is
intended to inaugurate a series of annual successes in improving on quality
and industrial relevance of scientific publications. Our cooperation with
prestigious associations and international scientific organisms will
contribute to its continuous success. In 2005, the conference is held in
Lisbon, Portugal, under the scientific support of several organizations
(IEEE, IEE, IARIA), several well-known institutes (INT - France), and with
industrial support from Cisco Systems and Siemens, as well as from the
incumbent operator R&D Company Portugal Telecom Inovação.

With having it technically co-sponsored by IEEE and with a higher quality
acceptance rate endorsed by LNCS – Springer publishing house, the A-ICT
brand will offer an appropriate stage for scientific credits. Aside being
under IEEE and Springer banner, the Advisory Committee will promote the top
papers in the scientific journals and offer substantial support for selected
young researches through the IARIA non-profit organization. Many scientists,
students, professionals and technical staffs, representing a large variety
of organizations such as universities, research institutes,
telecommunication operators and industry have attained each previous event,
forming a well defined scientists’ family. Advanced ICT will continue to
cover a variety of challenging telecommunication topics ranging from
background fields like signals, traffic, coding, communication basics up to
large communication systems and networks, fixed, mobile and integrated, etc.
Applications, services, system and network management issues will also
   receive significant attention.

We solicit both academic, research, and industrial contributions. A-ICT
2005 will offer tutorials, plenary sessions, poster sessions, panels, and
