Call for Papers

Symposium on Wireless System Adaptation
http://www.flint.umich.edu/~cisong/wirelesscomcfp.htm
A Part of WirelessCom 2005
Sheraton Maui Resort, Kaanapali Beach, Maui, Hawaii, USA
http://www.sheraton-maui.com/
June 13-16, 2005
Technical Sponsorship: IEEE TCCC, TCPC, and SSCTC

Scope

The next generation wireless network is thought as a heterogeneous network.
This requires new approaches to provide interpretability across various
wireless networks. Moreover, wireless network computing is always
constrained by the fact that various wireless systems have different
configurations on memory, processing power, battery life, and communications
capability. Therefore, adaptation and cross-layer design have been widely
adopted to provide Quality of Service in heterogeneous wireless networks.
This symposium solicits the state-of-the-art approaches and technical
solutions to wireless system adaptation and provides a specific forum on
this issue for colleagues throughout academia and industry.

Topics of Interests

Original papers are invited in the area of wireless system adaptation.
Papers must represent high-quality and previously unpublished work. Topics
of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

    * cross-layer design in wireless systems using nonlinear optimization theory
    * dynamic resource allocation, admission control, and scheduling in wireless systems
    * adaptive wireless MAC protocols in PAN/LAN/MAN and 3G/4G networks
    * adaptive wireless routing protocols in various wireless data networks
    * adaptive TCP over wireless links
    * adaptation in ad-hoc CDMA networks
    * adaptive embedded real-time system design
    * adaptation in wireless sensors and sensor networks
    * adaptive modulation schemes
    * adaptive error control coding schemes
    * DSP in wireless networks
    * adaptive network processor design
    * adaptive source coding schemes
    * simulation and modeling of adaptive wireless systems
