Special Section on
Parallel/Distributed Computing and Networking
Scope and Interests
The IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems announces
a forthcoming special section on "Parallel/Distributed
Computing and Networking" to be published in February 2006.
The field of parallel/distributed computing and networking
has obtained prominence through advances in electronic and
integrated technologies beginning in the 1940s. Current
times are very exciting and the years to come will witness a
proliferation in the use of parallel, distributed and
network systems.
The purpose of this special section is for computer
scientists, engineers and researchers to present their
recent advances, ideas, results and to exchange experiences
in the areas of architectural, compilation, language,
networking and other supports for problems in Parallel and
Distributed Computing area.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
1. Parallel and distributed hardware, architectures and
computation models
2. Parallelizing compilers, tools, programming languages and
algorithms, operation system support and I/O issues
3. Interconnection networks
4. Optical networks
5. Wireless networks, sensor networks, and mobile computing
6. High performance scientific and engineering computing
7. Performance evaluation and measurements
8. Network routing, communication and fault-tolerance
algorithms
9. High performance biological/molecular computing
10. Cluster, peer-to-peer, grid, pervasive and ubiquitous
computing
Guideline for Submission:
a. In preparing the manuscript, authors should be subjected
to the Information for Authors on IEICE Transactions, which
describes the standard format of papers. Information for
Authors is available through WWW service
(http://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/mokuji.html).
b. Please prepare a manuscript as a PDF or PS or Word file
and send to Dr. Hui Wang (hwang@u-aizu.ac.jp).
Please write the E-mail address of the representative author
on the cover page of the manuscript with 5 KEYWORDS. The
editorial committee will send a receipt notification to the
representative author via E-mail within four days after
submitting the manuscript. For more information about the
paper submission, please contact to:
Dr. Hui Wang

Fax: 81-242-37-2744
E-mail: hwang@u-aizu.ac.jp
c. It is recommended that the paper does not exceed 8
printed pages. If it exceeds this limit, extra fee will be
charged.
d. All authors, including authors of invited papers, are
requested to pay for the page charges that cover a part of
the publication cost. The page charges help cover the
substantial cost of editing and publishing the IEICE
Transactions. Peer review of your manuscript is provided as
a service. Authors are entitled to 100 free reprints of
their published articles. e. Please be advised that in the
case that a large number of papers are accepted for
publications, a portion of these papers may be published in
another issue of the journal.
