WLN 2005, the 5th Workshop on Wireless Local Networks, will be a one-day workshop, held in conjunction with the IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN). The workshop will bring together networking researchers, engineers, and practitioners
with participants from industry, academia, and government.

We are interested in visionary, experimental, systems-related and work in-progress papers in the area of local and personal wireless, mobile, ad hoc, wireless mesh, sensor and home networking. Within these board areas, the topics of interest include
(but are not limited to):

¥ Medium access techniques
¥ Topology control protocol
¥ Routing protocols and algorithms
¥ Transport protocols
¥ Cross layer design
¥ Energy efficiency in protocol and systems design
¥ User mobility and workloads modelling
¥ Location dependent/personalised applications
¥ Security issues in WLANs/WPANs
¥ Ad hoc or sensor network testbeds
¥ Resource allocation in wireless LANs
¥ Multiple wireless protocol coexistence issues
¥ Heterogeneous wireless networks
¥ Self configuration for ad hoc or sensor networks
¥ Interoperability issues between wireless standards/protocols and the Internet
¥ Wireless network simulation and modelling techniques
¥ Performance analysis of wireless networks
¥ Quality of Service issues in wireless networks
¥ Wireless multimedia network architectures and protocols

Papers should describe original, previously unpublished work, not currently under review by another conference, workshop, or journal. There is a possibility for authors of accepted papers to present a demonstration of their work.
