ASIAN INTERNET ENGINEERING CONFERENCE (AINTEC)

AINTEC is to bring together researchers and engineers interested in the
practical and theoretical problems in Internet technologies. It aims at
addressing issues pertinent to the Asian region with vast diversities of
socio-economic and networking conditions while inviting high quality and
recent research results from the global international research community to
be presented.

The technical sessions will include invited talks by leading experts,
presentations of papers, demos, posters and a pre-conference Asian School on
Computer Science (11-12 December, 2005)


In response to the recent natural disaster in Asia, AINTEC'05 main topics
concentrate on the survival of the Internet in order to provide alternative
means of communications in emergency and chaotic situations, as follows:

Multimedia or Multi-Services IP-based Networks
Peer-to-Peer
Measurement and Performance Analysis
Internet over Satellite Communication

Guidelines for Submission:
The conference proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in the LNCS
series. ย Please prepare your manuscript using the series' style, following
the instructions at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. The
proceedings papers will be limited to 15 pages.

Submission of a paper implies that should the paper be accepted, at least
one of the authors will register and present the paper in the conference.

Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the
final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance.

Trave Grants:

(a) STIC-ASIE  IPv6 Project:  three travel grants available for members of
the projects who would be presenting papers at AINTEC, please contact to
Thomas Noel.

(b) The French regional cooperation is pleased to offer two separate grant
programs to facilitate the participation of young researchers from the
Greater Mekong Sub-region and from South and Southeast Asia to the Asian
Internet Engineering Conference (AINTEC'05) organized from 13 to 15 December
2005 in Bangkok, Thailand. The website of the conference is at

Who can apply?
1) South and Southeast Asia Grant Program: Researchers aged less than 36
years old, originating from South and Southeast Asia and having a paper
accepted to the conference

2) GMS Grant Program: Researchers aged less than 36 years old, originating
from the Greater Mekong Sub-region (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand,
Vietnam and Yunnan) and with a demonstrated direct academic or research
involvement in issues of Internet Engineering.

What does the Travel and Conference Participation Grant include?
- return airplane transportation to Bangkok by the cheapest economic class
  direct flight
- accommodation cost for the duration of the conference
- per diem allowance
- conference registration fees

All other costs, including for example visa fees, local transportation, telecommunication costs, etc. are not covered by the grant.

How to apply?
a) Write a letter of application and attach the following documents:
- a CV, including your personal data, academic qualification and
  professional experience
- a copy of your passport
- the notification of acceptance of your paper, for the South and Southeast
  Asia Grant Program
- a short description of your current interests and activities in Internet
  Engineering, for the GMS Grant Program
