Australasian Information Security Workshop 2006 (Network Security)
AISW-NetSec2006
In conjunction with Australasian Computer Science Week, University of
Tasmania, January 16-19, 2006 Hobart, Tasmania

The proliferation of new networking technologies and protocols has
intensified concerns about confidentiality and authenticity of data. The
emerging areas of ubiquitous services, peer-to-peer networks, wireless
networking, and mobile ad hoc networks present challenging security
problems. Providing security guarantees in these highly vulnerable and
dynamic environments requires a combination of traditional techniques with
new approaches.
AISW-NetSec is a one-day workshop to be held in conjunction with the
Australasian Computer Science Conference, as part of Australasian Computer
Science Week in Hobart, Tasmania, 16-19 January 2006. The purpose of the
workshop is to promote further research interests and activities on network
security. It is also aimed at increasing the synergy between academic and
industrial researchers working in this area.
We are interested in experimental, systems-related, and work-in-progress
papers in all aspects of network security. The topics of interest include
(but are not limited to):
- Wireless Network Security -
Secure Routing
- Security of Sensor and Mobile - Denial
of Service Attacks
Ad Hoc Network - Web
Security, Authentication &
- Security of GSM/GPRS/UMTS systems Authorization in
wireless/
- RFID security and privacy mobile
networks and
- Intrusion Detection Systems
pervasive/ubiquitous computing
- Firewalls and Application gateways - Security
in hybrid (eg. Wired/
for wireless/mobile networks and wireless) networks

Instruction for Authors
Authors are invited to submit original papers: they must not substantially
duplicate work that any of the authors have published elsewhere or have
submitted in parallel to any other conferences that have proceedings. The
submission must be anonymous, with no author names, affiliations,
acknowledgements, or obvious references.
Original contributions up to 10 pages in length are invited.
Papers should conform to the formatting instructions for the series
Conferences in Research and Practice in Information Technology (available at
http://crpit.com/).
Papers will be judged on originality, significance, correctness and
clarity. The contribution of the paper should be clearly explained in both
general and technical terms. Submission of a paper includes a commitment
that, should the paper be accepted, at least one author will attend the
workshop to present the work.
Papers must be submitted electronically. Submissions must conform to this
procedure and be received by 25 August 2005, 11.59pm EST to be considered.
Late submissions and non-electronic submissions will not be considered.
The detail of the submission will be available at
http://www.titr.uow.edu.au/AISWNS2006/
Publication
Proceedings will be published in revised form through the Australian
Computer Society in its Conferences in Research and Practice in Information
Technology series. At least one author must register for the workshop to
ensure publication of the paper.
