CALL FOR PAPERS

Second IEEE PerCom Workshop on Pervasive Wireless Networking (PWN06)
http://www.eecs.orst.edu/~benl/PWN06

in conjunction with Fourth IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing
and Communications(PerCom 06) http://www.percom.org Pisa, Italy,
March 13-17 2006

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
Wireless connectivity with mobility support is an important enabling
technology for pervasive computing and communications. Especially, IP-based
mobile networks that are both infrastructured and infrastructureless attract
a lot of attention with the advent of inexpensive wireless LAN solutions
such as IEEE 802.11, HIPERLAN, and Bluetooth technologies. However, the
introduction of mobility raises a number of new research issues. This
workshop will seek papers describing significant research contributions to
the theory, practice, and evaluation of wireless networks for pervasive
computing. Technical papers describing original, previously unpublished
research, not currently under review by another conference or journal, are
solicited.

TOPICS
Workshop topics include (but not limited to):
  * Ad hoc networking and service discovery
  * Media access techniques and protocols
  * Power aware protocols
  * Quality-of-service issues
  * Personal Area Networks
  * Home networking
  * Distributed wireless sensor networks
  * Self-configuration and distributed algorithms for mobile ad hoc networks
  * Integration and internetworking of wired and wireless networks
  * Pervasive network platforms, systems, and testbeds
  * Pervasive computing and information services
  * Applications for ad hoc networks

SUBMISSION
Authors are requested to submit original papers of no more than 10 pages
(single-column format, 11-point font size, and 1.5 line spacing), including
figures, tables, and references in PDF format that include contact
information of all the authors to Prof. Ben Lee (benl@eecs.orst.edu).
Authors can also submit manuscripts in standard IEEE proceedings format
(two-column format with a five page limit). If you have any questions
regarding the submission process, please send e-mail to benl@eecs.orst.edu.
The papers from this workshop will be published in the proceedings of the
Fourth IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and
Communications by IEEE Press.
